Venue Feature: Foster Creek Farm
There aren’t that many venues that feel like coming “home”, but Foster Creek Farm does that for me. I drive down the winding curves of gravelly Foster Creek Road and get to the point where I can see the barn in the distance, and feel a nostalgic feeling I don’t get anywhere else. There’s a reason for that!
There’s the plain old nature of it being a farm—I’m a kid from a family that lived out in farm country in Washington state, so farms and rural areas just feel like home. But more than that, Foster Creek feels like home because most of my firsts were on site at that venue. My first ever styled shoot was at Foster Creek. My first delivery weddings were at Foster Creek Farm. My first Rocky Mountain Bride Full Wedding Blog Feature and Rocky Mountain Bride print magazine feature were both at Foster Creek Farm. A lot of my successes have been underlined at Foster Creek Farm.
My first and second full summers (2019 and 2020) of doing full-design weddings were at Foster Creek Farm almost constantly. What was in vogue at the time? Bud vases and garland runners, hanging greenery, pampas grass and roses roses roses. White and blush. Nearly all white and blush. Such an incredible starting point for me.
The barn is one of the most beautiful in the Gallatin valley. We have a lot of barn venues, so that’s saying something. Warm bright wood, a giant fireplace, dark floors and the white, only-slightly rustic exterior are just absolutely the most blank-slates I can think of. It’s one of the perfect places to just go all out on design because there’s nothing hindering us from dreaming bigger.
One of my highlights is taking the bouquet to the bright bridal suite and showing the bridesmaids in the giant mirror how to hold their bouquets. It’s just such a fun vibe and so beautiful inside. I love all the outdoor spaces and the various options for doing the ceremony. In front of the barn. In front of the woods by the creek. Up in the field. Other venues really only have ONE spot. Foster Creek’s on-site accommodations and beautiful accoutrements make it one of my favorites to flower. Versatile, bright, and very Montana.
If you want flowers that fit this true-to-Montana location perfectly, let’s chat. Rowan & Larch will create something seasonal and perfect for your personalities as a couple. With the barn allowing for so many diverse designs, we are only limited by our imaginations.
Note: I have lots of pictures of weddings at Foster Creek, but none of them were designed since I’ve made the switch to completely seasonal, locally grown flowers. So most of my weddings are not representative of the options available with only locally grown product. This gallery is close, but had some long distance product in the bouquets.
