Workshops & Learning with Rowan & Larch

One of my favorite parts of running a floral studio is hosting workshops. There’s something really special about creating a space where people can slow down, explore, and get their hands in the flowers. For me, it’s not just about teaching techniques—it’s about giving people the chance to connect with nature, with their creativity, and sometimes even with themselves.

There are no upcoming events at this time.

Workshops are a place to experiment without pressure. I love teaching people how to work with flowers that are actually in season—showing them what’s at its peak, what lasts longest, and how to let nature dictate the palette. There’s also a focus on sustainability: I teach participants to use plastic-free, reusable mechanics, so they can create arrangements that are beautiful and eco-conscious. Learning these skills makes it easy to build arrangements that respect the environment while still feeling lush and expressive. I also love that workshops are social spaces. Whether participants come with friends or meet new people for the first time, there’s an energy that comes from everyone creating together. Conversations spark around the tables—about flowers, design, life, or the small triumphs of figuring out the right stem placement. Those moments are as meaningful as the arrangements themselves.

At the end of a workshop, I always step back and marvel at what people have created. Every arrangement is unique, full of personality, and a little piece of joy that the maker gets to take home. That’s why I host them: to share the love of flowers, to encourage play and experimentation, and to create a small space where creativity and sustainability are celebrated. Workshops are more than just classes—they’re experiences. Watching people leave inspired, confident, and proud of what they made reminds me why I keep doing them, over and over again.
