Sara & Scott’s saturated toned, Montana-core spring Wedding

Sara and Scott’s wedding was a delightful May extravaganza when it came to floral. Because Sara wanted the freshest spring blooms, their design brought with it such a saturated, mouth-watering array of local flowers. From tamale red tulips and cotton candy peonies, to peachy ranunculus, with buttery forsythia and zesty dogwoods, we had a smorgasboard of color. This wedding was very close to being arranged entirely from locally grown flowers—Because it was one of the first where I tried to prioritize entirely local product, I had some things we had to order long distance because my communication and ordering needed streamlining—especially with greenery. Montana grown greenery can be tough to come by in early May, so we pivoted just a little. Sara was very particular on sustainability but also particular on the color palette. With several iterations, I enjoyed the challenge to create and nail what she wanted— saturated, but not loud, bright but not jester, movement without being too funky. The flowers played their role perfectly—One of our incredible farmers even brought back dogwood blossoms from a road trip she was taking and WOW did they EVER make the statement we wanted! You can spot them in the flatlays—the extremely vivid pink flower with four petals. What a joy to create with sustainable, chemical free flowers for a couple that cared deeply about finding their way into a wedding with purpose. An altogether ravishing display of bright but not gaudy spring flowers in their best forms. As always, Aly photographed the colors of the flowers SO faithfully and Kianna at Golden Hour events NAILED EVERY SINGLE DETAIL (as per usual). Copper Rose Ranch (in Paradise Valley…near Livingston, Emigrant and Pray) was the perfect backdrop.
