For the lookbook, we needed to showcase as much as possible the various ways these rentals could be used. For this incredible shoot, we chose 6 different main scenes and created florals to fit the vibe and direction of the shoot. The goal was to underscore Montana Party Rentals’ fantastic options for tabletop wares, soft seating, tables and vases. We worked with the flowers that were in season and created different color palettes. You can view the lookbook HERE. The variety of location, lighting, costuming and planning made it so this shoot had to be divided into several galleries here on my website. It’s still wild to me that the Montana Film Ranch in Paradise Valley (near Livingston, Emigrant and Chico) is often a fully locked down film set. It was a great day.
SCENE 1: THE WATERING HOLE—the round bar—where we created a large arrangement in a butter churn. we showcased some of the drink serving rentals but mainly, we had real live horse parading around. we matched this color palette to the palette of the saloon in scene 2 so we could re use the large piece.
SCENE 2: THE SALOON—our color palette here was to underline the reds but complement them while still adding some lightness to a dark room. We went for berry, with lilac, butter yellow and peaches. (Sounds yummy, right?)
SCENE 3: THE MERCANTILE—We originally planned for 2 separate scenes for the mercantile, so I had the brain wave to create 2 different color palettes of flowers but ALL IN EDIBLE FLOWERS. Genius, am I right?? These arraangements could have been eaten in their entirety, though maybe not tasted absolutely fantastic as they were. Allium, scapes, dahlias, pansies, tomato vines, spices, tomatillo—it was all fair game. And so fun to design with.
SCENE 4: THE BARN—we knew the barn was going to be very dark inside, so we decided on a brighter, warmer color palette to bring it all together. It was so fun to set up in this actual barn with birds flying around, rain pelting the roof and wind wuthering through the slats in the barn.
SCENE 5: I created this “cherry caramel phlox” bouquet and 2 pieces to go with it for the church scene. We didn’t have a ton of time, but I think we did the church and 2 very cool, very different bouquets justice. Don’t you?
SCENE 6: THE FIELD—the sun came out unexpectedly in the afternoon, and this beautiful arrangement-in-a-bread-bowl became the showstopper along with some incredible linens and napkins.
Note: To make this page load quickly, all photos had to be compressed so the color and quality are not optimal, but the designs were worthy to be showcased even so.
