Thanks for stopping in!

Rowan and Larch sprang from a germinating idea I had while on a swing in a park on the shores of lake Superior on a 4 month van trip. The idea began as a little shop where I could market my own handmade goods, provide hand tied bouquets, teach workshops, and work alongside two dear friends. It was the inkling that grew and evolved into what Rowan and Larch is now—a wedding and event floral company (that also dabbles in other fun, creative outlets)! There is no brick and mortar, and currently there are no plans that direction, but who knows! If I dream it, I might just do it!

Why do I love what I do?

I love this community—the town and its vendors. The event industry in the Gallatin Valley is peopled with the most supportive, driven entrepreneurs who don’t shoulder past or walk over others to get business. We refer to each other and include new vendors and workshop and welcome new members and grow together. There’s room to grow, and we know all about that rising tide.

I love to design organic, romantic, whimsical florals. The curation of fine art florals and the creation of garden-inspired organic shapes is what drives my passion. My signatures include buttery focal flowers, soaring punctuative elements and elevated natural textures.

I love to work towards sustainability. Since the beginning, I’ve avoided using floral foam, but have expanded my determination to avoid as much waste as possible by using local elements, ordering USA grown flowers, avoiding the use of floral foam and single use plastics, using compostable Oshun pouches and composting as much organic material as possible. I try to pitch as many weddings as possible with recipes using only local flowers.

I love that my clients are human beings with stories, emotions and personalities. It is my pleasure and challenge to create something curated for each of my couples. Something that truly tells their story. This is what breathes life into my art. I am passionate about creating the color palettes of dreams and educating my client to build something amazing. I love interacting with my couples and feeling out the design, all to discover and run with something that speaks overwhelmingly of their personalities, and anchors their wedding in the natural world. Often, couples trust me to be the professional I am. It is a benefit to both of us to set me loose after a few general directives to do my job. When I get to play, I’m an enthusiastic, adventurous creator that excels at the natural feel.

I love making amazing florals accessible. One of my goals as a florist is to make gorgeous florals accessible. If your budget is smaller, if I can, I still want to see if I can fit you into my schedule and attempt to find a way to make you an amazing bouquet and boutonniere for you to pick up—let’s prioritize so you still have something fantastic, even if it’s not extravagant. If your floral budget is larger, we’ll get the most incredible flowers you’ve ever seen and do an awe-inspiring installation or two and make it absolutely rain flowers on your day.

I love creating space for people who think they’re not creative. I am extremely passionate about helping people believe in their creativity. Whether teaching people that flowers are not as intimidating as they appear, or showing super simple sketching and shading techniques, I love the journey that brings people to a place of trust in the wellspring of their own capabilities. I love to be the tap that brings out a passion for a new hobby.

I hope what you’ve learned through reading this is that I am passionate about relationships with real, true people. I’m very excited to connect with you—in whatever capacity.
Affectionately,

Hannah
